Saddam's Trial

what a circus, is anyone watching this?

This guy has balls of steel...whining about having to climb stairs wish shackles after killing thousand, no, hundred of thousands of people...then the judge adjourns the trial (again) so the defense team can replace two lawyers that have been KILLED and one that got injured and bailed out of the country...

What do you suppose those interviews are like?

Will he ever actually get a completed trial?

Circus is a good description though. I dont catch much of it, but try to stay current on it as I think it will all be a sham in the end. I'm picturing something along the line of the Micheal Jackson trial here. Thats just how I see it so far, more stalling and crap till they can figure out how to help him escape or what ever.

i dont know what i think on this; i just think his legal defense is hilariously kindergarten-ish. 'i'm still president cause you cheated, and my rules say you cant prosecute me nyah nyah!'

yeah, I'm with "fortymile"...I just don't know...but the defense is, ummm, an interesting strategy...I just hope he doesn't get a left wing liberal judge or it will put him right back into the presidency...cuz he was discriminently treated...poor poor Saddam...

I cannot see how someone who ordered the killing of so many people CAN ever be free'd. I dont see how someone who has (and admitted too) using chemical weapons against his own people can be free'd.

If justice through the courts wont work, just whack um...endof. Problem solved. No more saddam.

We ALL know he is guilty, its not vigilantisim...employ a hit man, and whack um.

Yep, thats the way to go. OR, FREE him into the streets, and let one of the many Iraqis whack him...

Options may be limited but whackin comes into play a whole lot!

Well, I don't know about you, but technically speaking, I don't KNOW anything, hell, technically I don't even KNOW Iraq is a real country, I've never seen it...

Aye..thats true.

Nobody KNOWS for sure...though, there is a very good chance its all true :-) !

All the same, hiding down a hole and evading the allied forces surely had some bearing on his probable guilt...! In the end...I dunno.

But, ideally the court will find him guilty and that'd solve all the problemos..

Well, in all honesty, I have run and hid a couple times when I knew I was being chased, even when it was for no good reason...if I had allied forces coming for me with guns a' blazin', guilty or innocent, I'd have likely run and hid...

What's sad is that it could happen, if his defense actually holds up (which it won't). His defense is that he was illegally ousted from power, if proven correct (which it won't be) he would be put back into power, correct? I would leave it to a left-wing liberal judge to say Saddam was misunderstood, and give him back the throne...

That said, I highly doubt that will happen in Iraq...I wonder what would happen if he was put out in the street like Coco said, and we just backed off and let nature take it's course...I wonder if he would be wacked or if everybody would run and hide, letting him sieze control again...

Hey, we've all got our opinions...

actually i would think it would be a conservative judge that would want him back in power, because that would equal more US war dollars. which would equal more money to republican politicians via defense contractors. like maybe get their houses bought by one of these defense contractors for triple the cost and still live in said house for free. like that republican in cali.

PHILADELPHIA - Sen. Arlen Specter accused the National Football League and the Philadelphia Eagles of treating Terrell Owens unfairly and said he might refer the matter to the antitrust subcommittee of the Senate Judiciary Committee, which he chairs.

and you have the nerve to generalize liberals.

What the hell right does a senator have to say an NFL football player was treated unfairly? I'll throw a fit if my tax dollars are spent to negotiate that overpaid arrogant prick to get more money.

Forgive my french.

true, but that is hardly affecting anything in the grand scheme of things...it is a stupid athlete that plays a sport, not a maniacal, murdering leader of a country that wants nothing more than to kill everybody that doesn't serve his bidding.

As far as Saddam getting a fair trial... Yeah, he'll still be found guilty and exocuted.

"hell, technically I don't even KNOW Iraq is a real country, I've never seen it..."

I like that dB, unfortunately I've had the privilege to visit that wonderful country on a few separate occasions, so I know it's real. I just hope there is a little bit of justice left in the world. If anything, I hope people like Saddam get what they have coming to them, at least in the end. With that said I think I'll stick to just watching the daily show.
