recommendations for intel/amd MoBos ?

I am horribly confused as to which MoBo I should use for either Intel or AMD. Thought to try your experiences :-)
The two boards I have on my radar is
ASUS P4C800-E (Intel) and
ASUS A8N-E (AMD)
First one is recommended by my friend who made his DAW recently, but is discontinued.
Second one is from a local computer store.

Nov 26, 2005 02:57 pm Asus makes a very dependable MoBo, there are lots of peep's here using them. I switched to MSI a few years ago with great result's. My main reason was they use an app that give's you control over most things you would normally go to the bios for. And they have a software which will do it right from windows desktop.

HEAPS of factors are invloved in what to buy depending on what you want it for.
