It's great to be here! Can someone please help?
I have cubase se on my laptop. When I try to use the pull-down menu under MIDI, to get to the drum editor, drum editor is grayed-out. Can't click on it. I don't have a MIDI controller yet. For now, I want to program drum notes by hand.
Also, how do I get the VST's to lay down as audio tracks?
I'm new to computer recording..Any help would be much appreciated!!

Grab your pencil tool and draw in some MIDI data on your midi track. Then double click on your midi data with your cursor and it will open the drum editor.

Well you wanna go to the 'devices' drop down menu I think. Its the menu up the top where you can select the different mixers, device setup etc. The click 'VST Instruments' and load your synth or whatever in there. (it might be F9 or F7)

Now go to your MIDI track and select the input as your keyboard or whatever, and your output as the plug in you just loaded.
