Recording on song silence

I've recently listened to The Oncoming Storm from Unearth and i've realized that the intro of the song Zombie Autopilot is writed in a 30 seconds silence spot between that and the previous song. Infact you can listen to it only if you listen the previous track too. The silence counter on the CD reader activate as normal but it starts from -30 and it starts playin' the intro!

Anyone know how this is done?? It would be very interesting!

I'm a bit confused as to exactly what your saying, but I'll venture a guess here.

Almost all CD burning programs can do this. It is available in the editing portion of most CD burning software.

Well, i'm not sayin' that after 30 seconds of silence the intro starts (this, i know, can be done with every CD Burning program) but that instead of the 2 or 1 seconds standard silence between tracks there is supposed to be a 30 seconds "silence" but when the player get to the end of the 4th song the countdown of the silence starts (from 30 as i said) but, instead of silence, you ear the intro of the next song!
The result is that you can listen to that intro only if you listen all the 4th track beacause as far as i know you can't select the silence between tracks on normal players...

I hope to have explained it a bit better this time.. :P

Dont know, there were only 2 when I got here. And now there is only 1. :-)

Anyway, like I said. Most higher end CD burning programs are capable of doing this. You simply need to have 30 seconds or whatever of silance at the end of the leading track. Then you will now overlap the next track over that 30 seconds of silence by adjusting the second tracks start time, or overlap time so it starts 30 seconds before the first track's time is up. This will trigger most higher end CD players to read a negative number while counting in to the pont the track actually will switch, which is the point at which the leading track ends, not the point the next track begins.

On the real high end burning programs you can actually edit the data even further and in more bizarre ways, but those programs will run you several thousand dollars as well. Like DiscWelder Bronze and programs of that nature.
