For those of you that use the very cool (and free) alternative to Microsoft Office, OpenOffice, version 2.0 was released today.

Oct 20, 2005 03:18 pm It's a worthy alternative, and very compatiible with MS Office, so you can open and save as MS documents from OpenOffice...very cool indeed.

Oct 20, 2005 04:27 pm I've used OO for quite a while and it's very nice... though I'm trying to learn LaTeX for some of my larger projects like a book and for scripts which don't agree with word processors very well.

What I particularily like, is that it'll be hard for MS to sue, since OO isn't making any $$$ on this. Sweet indeed.
