I've been grounded for SOOOO long and now i can go online again!

Defect's solo (by kris) sucks but the rest are awesome. A Negative Cause has a solo by Freddie in it and Trip to Nowhere has a dueling solo in it... its tough but u can distinguish the two guitars (kris barely on the left more and freddie barely on the right more)... it goes freddie, kris, freddie, kris, freddie, kris, and freddie. I kinda have a little solo in the drums but i messed up at the very end... oh well it still sounds ok i guess. kris wrote Defects and Trip to Nowhere's solos and freddie wrote A Negative Cause's solo.

Matt- Vocals
Freddie- Guitar
Kris- Guitar, Bass, Backup Vocals
Mikey (me)- Drums

turn the bass down a little or bring up the highs. i did this at my house but the guy who recorded us made it so bassy that it muffled a lot.

enjoy!

I took a listen to Defect, and yeah, he boosted the bass quite a bit. Noticed the solos were a bit out of time...

Wow, he really cranked the bass didn't he? Wonder if he was using bass-weak monitors or something for the mix?

Negative Cause was like on the other end of the spectrum. A tad muddy still, but the kick was way lower than it was in Defect. Did the same guy do your recording? The vox/guitar/bass seemed to be a better mix in Negative Cuase than Defect.

But yeah, I'm not a mixing/recording/mastering dude by any means nor am I familiar with the genre. Anybody else have comments?

well defect was first song we recorded... no, it was all the same guy. we did all those songs in six hours. we did every song in one take and then over-dubbed the vocals, solos and bass in. all those songs are fixed at my house tho... he was supposed to give me a CD of all the tracks. I dont know about the weak bass in his monitors cuz it was reall bassy in the studio. he said he had a powerful sub and thats why it was bassy but i think he just doesnt understand that the sub was perfectly fine and that he just needed to turn down the bass.... ALOT!
