yep, I heard around 4" of wet snow is coming up there...

Last night, after the funeral I went to (much more emotional for me than I expected) it rained HARD, streets were flooding cuz storm drains couldn't take it in fast enough...it was crazy...several streets closed today and one school...sheesh...and it's still raining, tho lighter, right now.

an email from a good freind of mine that works at a local weather analysis lab:

"FWIW, the airport and the weather office both reported more than 4 inches of rain, and there were a few reports in this part of the state of more than 5 inches. We can thank former tropical storm Otis (since dissipated) in the eastern Pacific for the moisture which caused this rainfall.

And also FWIW, the cold front should be coming through around noon. Temperatures will fall from the low 70s then to the upper 30s by tomorrow morning. High in the 40s tomorrow with lower 30s for a low tomorrow."

sheesh, quick change.

This cat at work is always going off about the government controlling the weather, and such... once he told me if I stare at a cloud for 5 minutes, it will dissapear because of the 'whatever' the government uses in clouds to produce them ! lol

I'll have to show him this... should be fun .

Ah, some of that type of thing I find interesting, but I think some folks give the gov't far more credit than they deserve...

So, did GWB create the hurricanes to boost his oil prices then?

45 mph wind gusts, mid-to-upper 90's. Ventura CA.

What is this "winter" thing you speak of?

Oh, one of those "seasons" thingies I recall from my childhood.

We have but two seasons here.
Brown, and Green.

In fact, no other country I know can GENUINLELY have 4 seasons in one day (no pun intended) but aye, its true....

Still mid to high 70's here and sunny. Sept/Oct are usually our hotest and nicest months. It will be turning nasty pretty soon though... well nasty for California any who.
