Recently I've been dissapointed with the results when recording with my drummer. After first laying down the drums with a single Shure 58 room mic {I know.. vocal mic , we're looking into it... maybe a Shure multi pack setup ? Any suggestions? ) and then recording my guitar track, mic-ing my 4X12 Marshall cab with same mic ( instead of a Shure SM57, which I will be picking up soon ), then tried it with a Samson R11 ( crappy for that too). The result left to be desired. We then sent mics through a Behringer ub4444 xf pro and out to my sound card ( SB Audigy 1 ). Now.. with recent knowledge that I aquired from HRC , due to the fact that my mixer already has pre-amp channels , that eliminates the need for mic pre-amps, I apperently need to replace my sound card . While researching through Guitar World and Guitar One mags, I've noticed that M-Audio and E-MU came up alot. I've been eyeing the E-MU 1820 (320$ USD) or M- Audio Delta 1010LT (299.95$ USD). Does anybody have any suggestions on a recording solution that is either more effecient in conjunction with a behringer ub2222 fx pro mixer, or another recording method ? Thanks friends !
