Do I need to disable my other soundcard

Hi,
I got my Audiophile 2496 and installed it in my Dell XPS PC with XP OS.
But I can't find the hardware anywhere.
I'm pretty sure it's installed right cause I can hear an audible pop on startup that wasn't there before.
Can anyone suggest where I might go so that I can help my PC find it?
Or do I need to somehow disable my other soundcard (Soundblaster Audigy) in order for this one to work?

Well, I would say, whether or not the Audiophile is found, disabling the other card is a good idea, it'll do nothing for you unless you are a gamer.

if it's not showing up anywhere, then I believe it would not be installed properly.

Did you install the drivers as well as the card?

Also you do not need to disable the audigy, and indeed the audigy can serve you if you are going to be doing anything with midi.
