As far as the song goes, I dig it, it reminds me of sitting in hotel rooms

Jul 28, 2005 10:53 am Got them, see ya friday.
Jul 28, 2005 11:59 am listening to Far Away...
something, probably the mic, is clipping somewhere (or seriously distorting) in the intro (i'm guessing it's the vocals and guitars combined, they just push it harder) the vocals sound good i like the harmonies, and delays...the guitar is a bit dark, but it suits the mood well, the vocals are really 'intimate' and have ALOT of 'presence' it kinda feels like the singer (you?) is looking right at me from about 18 inches from my face....i'd add a bit more reverb on the vocals to push them back some....not so much as you hear the tail, try to eq the highs out of it, and use a small room maybe.....
did you play the guitar and sing at the same time? the distortion really seems to corolate with the guitar?
under the circumstances, this sounds like an excellent 'idea' mix to keep. and sometimes those mixes capture the song better than the one you elaborately plan out and slave over!!
way cool song man.
