ok this has happened to me TWICE now, i mixdown my song to 24/44.1 in Sonar, the open it in wavelab, set my limiter ect....i turn on the dither thing, and set the output resolution to 16 bit and 'render' it....plays fine in wavelab....then i burn a cd, and all it is is white noize static!!!!!!!

this is the second ******* time i've burned 6 cd's only to find out they are useless!!!!!

AAAAAEREEEERRRRGGGGGGG!!!!!

i'm using sonar's dither from now on

I normally use the Apogee dither on WL withoot nae hassle.

I record/work in CBase SX2 at 32bit then render dwon at the end to 16/44.1

Not sure if you sorted it out yet or not WYD, but I had a similar problem rendering tracks in Wavelab. I set the dither to 16 in the Waves L2 limiter and then rendered. The trick is that when you render, and you're offered the file name/destination options, you still have to manually change the bit depth of the new file to 16 bit before clicking OK otherwise it will still be a 24bit file, that is a 24 bit file with noisy dither included.

I'm not sure if this is exactly the problem you're having, but I'm happy to discuss further if you want to sort it out. Sounds like we use basically the same set-up and I've been "mastering" my Sonar mixdowns in Wavelab too, with dither and I don't have any noise issues.

I just go 'file' 'save as'. Then choose the bit depth/sample rate from there. Thats my 'dither'. But hey, it works?
