Guitar wiring

For some reason my brother was having wire problems in his KH-203 which have EMG H4 pickups in it. Then he fixed it...but now its acting up again...when I mess with a tone knob and a volume knob it sounds similar to static...and the signal cuts in and out. Its just crappy...no responding right.

The guitar is primarily mine now so I am wondering if its a good thing to re-wire it. I am not sure if there is better wire or what exactly to do???

there always seem like there are ways you can tweak your equipment to make it better...just curious to know if anyone has input on this...

It may just be a bunk pot, have you changed the pot? Static when turning it sounds like a dirty, aor wearing out pot.

Your local, so I'll tell ya this, if it comes down to it, the best local guitar-fixer-upper is Ted Vig...call the local music go round to get to him...he picks up instruments from them once or twice a week...

Ted friggin rocks, the things he did with my washburn were amazing...as they were on Noize's ESP.

My fees was almost a couple hundred bucks, but I had half the neck shaved and refretted, new pickups installed and such stuff...for the work he does, they are reasonable.
