M-Audio Firewire and MXL mic Question

Hello,

I have been researching and would like to set up a small home studio. I am mostly interested in recording my vocals and guitar at the moment. I have an old mac G4. I would like to purchase Tacktion for the software b/c of the user friendly appeal.

What do you think about the M-Audio FireWire Audiophile and the MXL 992/992 Studio Package mic set?

I am trying to work w/in a small budget but do not want to totally limit myself.
