These cats I know called me on Saturday and hinted they were looking to record on Sunday and that they could throw some money my way. Ok, lets do it folks. Hilarious. People were actually paying me to record and mix their music (well we just recorded rap vocals). They said they were confident in my ability to get the mix right. They gave me the nickname chopfather cuz I constantly wowed them at my ability to cut, paste and intermix seperate vocal takes to make them sound like one vocal take. I just blown away that some people came to me to pay me to record them. What's the world coming too. Pretty soon, I'll be able to quit my job. Wait I already did quit my job...

I remeber in one of my 'free' sessions, this band was argueing about this really bad bass take, and whether or not they should do it again, whilst they were talking, i cut/paste and time shifted the bass line around to make it sound perfect played it back to them, and they were like "how the hell did that happen?" They kept asking me how i did it too.
Its IS funny. Something that I find simple, and actually fun to do absolutly wows the band members. Whats not funny though, is when they start telling you to fix stuff :P

Yeah, they haven't ordered me to fix anything yet, but you can see the expectation is there like, so can you just paste those two together. I don't mind cuz usually I can, so I do. Although they recorded with me again on Friday, and one guy had just written his verse and it took him 14 or so snippets to get through it. I think I'm going to have him come back and re-record that verse.
