This would create the same effect as downsampling to 8-bit. not sure what you are talking about by "eq curve" but the general frequency response of a phono signal is 70hz-16,000khz

Hope that helped. If not, you can yell at me later.

no downsampling to 8 bit is a digital effect/sound....phono plugs on recievers have a standardized eq to compensate for the physical record...i think it cuts the highs and boosts the bass....

look for an old steinberg plug called "Grungelizer", it used to (maybe still does) come with Wavelab...it's the BOMB at doing stuff like this...it even can add in ticks and pops, and go back to the very first phonographs...super cool plug.

You got it WYD. The highs are boosted during production of the recrd and then cut in the preamp. This is done to compensate for noise and tracking issues. I deal with turntables a lot at work. Heres a response curve. www.beigebag.com/case_riaa_1.htm

Izotope has has one called vinyl that is free and is very good. You add, mechanical noise, dust, scratches, pops, and warp and has EQ curves from early to present day.

It would definitly be easy enough to do... since they give the atten. in numbers as well. The graphic eq plugin I use has a similar display, so its just a matter of matching the numbers.

FYI: I learned something new today.
