Configuration ?

Greetings to all the great musicians!!

Here's the issue: I'm getting no sound from Pro Tools. My sound is currently running thru my Dalta 44 and all my other prgrams work normal, but I can't get a thing from Pro Tools.

Question: Where does the M-Box fall into the setup? or How do I incorporate it into my exsiting setup? Sould the M-Box run thru the Dalta 44, or is it more of a stand alone device?

Any insight is much appriciated.

The M-box could effectively replace the Delta 44...they are both audio interfaces, the Delta being internal and the M-Box being an external...but both serving the same purpose.

But how would I make the connections? Seeing as how the Delta 44 has 4 I/O ports and the MBox has only 2...

i don't think it's a good idea to run two different audio interfaces at the same time.....

Why? I have, I don't make a habit out of it, but when I am beta testing or reviewing for somebody or I run two side by side, and, if they are both decent interfaces (like the two mentioned about) it generally isn't a problem...but everything has it's moments too...

That being said, if you are running ProTools that came with the m-box, then I would run the M-Box, I don't think it will work with a non-DigiDesign card. However, DigiDesign did just make ProTools m-powered that is made for M-AUdio users.

Typically Digidesign products do not play well with others...but they now own M-Audio too...hmmmm

hmmm i was under the impression, that you can only run one ASIO device at a time...is this not the case?

yes, thats true, but if devices have WDM drivers (which many do) you can run more than one in WDM mode. ASIO can only run more than one if the company specifically writes drivers to do so, and then it generally only works on devices of the same make/model.

i would think so, i'm using my soundblaster for my computer sounds WDM, and it does run fine along with my q-10 ASIO.

Thanx for the insight folks, I knew I could count on you to give me something I can use. I really appriciate it. I decided to return the MBox. Since Digidesign bought M-Audio, they've made ProTools M-Powered which works with just about any M-Audio audio interface. We'll see where it goes from here.

I appriciate your time and input.
