I've been DJing for a while now and decided to record up a mixed up set that's a little over 1 hour long and has like 25 different songs on it. I just recorded the whole thing to 1 large wave file. I would like to record this to a CD, but it's only 1 track right now. I want to be able to split it up into 25 different tracks so I can forward through the mix. Is there a good software program that will do this for me seemlessly? I tried splitting it up with Sound Forge and Audition, but when I burn it to CD using Disc at Once, I still get a very slight little slip in between songs (not the 2 second track-at-once pause). Even though the slip is very minor, it's near the middle of the mix where it would almost sound like a suck as a mixing DJ. Can anyone recommend a good software program that will do this for me?

May 20, 2005 03:02 pm Using Soundforge or Audition to seperate the tracks will work fine. Now, what do you use to burn it to a CD? I know with Nero, using Nero Express will do that even when you tell it to do Disc at Once.
May 20, 2005 03:03 pm why not leave it one track and just put "markers" at the breaking points...WaveLab does it (as I recall) I am guessing Sound Forge does as well.

Adobe Audition 1.5 allows you to burn directly from within. Works great. Just add some track cues where you need them and you are done.

May 20, 2005 03:21 pm Ohhh, don't use Cool Edit but that's cool feature to have!
May 20, 2005 03:25 pm thanks for the fast replies. I guess I must have been doing it wrong in Audition. I was breaking the single wave file and making it into different tracks. I'll keep it as 1 file and add the track cues. I never used that function before.

May 20, 2005 05:03 pm On the topic, does anyone know how to get stuff to play in between tracks where it would usually be 2 seconds of silence (i.e. it says "track 8
-1:02) in adobe audition? Or would I need a seperate program to do that?
May 20, 2005 05:14 pm Nero does that josh, ya just push "no space between music" when you burn the CD. Not sure about adobe though.
May 21, 2005 06:02 am hey, can you use Wavelab to put in track cues?
May 21, 2005 08:01 am yes you can...
