They chased me out of the yard and back into the house... and then camped outide the door.
I was thinking, "How cute!... I wonder how many diseases they have..."

May 10, 2005 02:27 pm lol not aggressive, just curious. I know a couple of people that keep them as pets. They say you cant keep the damn things out of trouble... expecially near shiny objects.
wild ones, I would definitly be cautious around though... but I think you are safe. I didnt see any foam around the mouth.

May 10, 2005 02:45 pm Take care man. They CAN be vicious. Oh, and another thing, they can be hard to get rid of so don't feed 'em. Around here they are a real nuisance.
May 10, 2005 03:18 pm thats why we have small caliber guns
May 10, 2005 06:43 pm we had one that hung out on top of our screened in pool's screen. it walked around up there in broad daylight, and if you hollered at it, it would just look at you. moved very slowly. seemed completely unconcerned. it would stare at you and play with a small object in its hands which it had found, just watching. it was as large as a small to medium sized dog--huge for a raccoon.

May 10, 2005 10:05 pm we got one around here, big lug, been tipping our garbage can over. Now we're keeping them in at night.
I'm tempted to chase him down with the 22, but don't feel inspired to stay up late. =)

May 10, 2005 10:09 pm I'll tell ya what. Let em grow a bit bigger.
They are tastey critters when barbequed proper!!!
The city ones that eat garbage and crap are no good at all though. So only eat em if your out in the country and you know they been eatin healthy stuff.
But take Beerhunters word for truth. If you feed those little suckers, and by the looks of them on that screen dorr some one allready has.
They will never leave!

May 10, 2005 11:18 pm one night back when I was doing security I found a racoon trapped on one of the steel beams, I thought it was cute and decided to leave it alone, thinking it would get itself down. Well on my next round an hour later it was still there and I saw foam around it's mouth, so I radio in headquarters and ask if I should call animal control. Poor little racoon, I was told to just shoot it in the head and tape off the area. Wish he didn't have rabies...
May 11, 2005 03:11 am my friend once went squirrel hunting, and served himself up squirrel with a side of FUNYUNS of all things.

May 11, 2005 07:41 am heh no we don't feed them and our trash is locked inside the garage until trashday. Actually the neighbors garden is closer to the den than our house is... which is probably why they took up residence.
They were nice enough to scare away the woodchuck that previously occupied the den they now live in... I "think" I'd rather have coons than woodchucks :)
