John Lennon being the king (Elvis - who is he!!) always attracts my attention, as does Lennon covers.

I think this is cool. Cool drums...nice beat ye have goin on there. In fact, the song itself on CD is so sparse it would need something to fill it out if yer no John which nobody ever could be.

Therefore, I like these drums...they fill the song out. The vocal harmonies are sounding cool to. I hear a lot of stuff going on which is opposite to the original as I say which is what makes it cool.

Good work man. Nice effort...

Rigsby, that is very cool indeed. I like it alot. Nice choice of insturmentation for sure.

Did you use all acuastic instruments on this or are some synth versions? I love the vocals as well, very interseting mix to say the least.

This will make a great mother's day present.

Thanks Noize. It's not a present, it's for a mother's day special on the radio show i sometimes DJ on (not my show this time), all the songs are mother-related tunes for that show, it goes out in two weeks time.

No synths on this, the drums are a snare played with a brush near the rim and a tom that i have detuned pretty much permanently for use as a kick, played with a beater, those i recorded at once and then added a ride. The acoustic instruments are a triple tracked berimbau (i bought one in amsterdam a few weeks ago and have been loving it ever since). There's a left and a right and then the bassline which is a third part pitchshifted down an octave keeping the low drone. Then there's perc, radio and a few found sounds to complete it.

Glad you liked it, you too coco.

Nice take on a Lennon tune Rigsby. Very different from the original, but still good.

Thanks. I don't see the point of doing a cover if it just copies the original, much better imo to make it your own.
