Apr 17, 2005 07:03 pm As long as you dont need a pre-amp in front of them. Ya it will be OK. A mic really should go through a pre first.
Apr 18, 2005 12:36 pm yep they are both balanced....
Noize!!! you touched on an interesting point....
when running live audio i always plug the mics into the snake which runs to the front of house mixer....
while in a studio, while pondering gain staging, we've got a snake gooin' to the walls of the rooms in theere.. i was thinkin' about puttin' the mic pre in the room with the singer, so there's a HOT signal gooin' throught the snake....but i opted out because i wanted to be able to tweek the signal in real time without interupting the singer.

Apr 18, 2005 11:23 pm No it wont. Although the line input without a pre on it will give a very weak signal.
WYD, it is best to keep the Pre as close to the console as possible. That way there is not as much signal loss due to running through 100 plus feet of cable.
