I am not sure about the model. But I dont think they are made specific to PA use. I may be wrong on this however, not knowing the model. They are mostly known for HIFi type speaker systems. And do get used as large format moniters in studio's.

I heard some a while ago, thought they were nice and balanced. My Fav. of all time for PA/DJ work is the Harmon Kando lucas 2000. That thing is a freakin' beast! you could use them for studio monitering theyre so clear lol. IMO any ways

Hi

I have just brought a 12 channel snake with 4 returns on it. I used it for a recording the other day and found that my return channel that i was using for headphones for the artist was in mono. I think this is beacuse the adapter change (from XLR to Jack) is a mono is there any way to get around this ?.

Probly doesnt make much sense

IVe heard Wharfedale speakers..they are OK but Im not the biggest fan.

As Noize says, they make more HIFI type stuff than real noteworthy PA / Live stuff tho they do, do it.

Id prefer JBL, Laney or Peavey - something like that if it were me (I may be in the market for a wee PA soon maself).

Good luck to ye

Coco.

If you take a look at their website you may see that indeed they are not makers of PA type speakers.

www.wharfedale.co.uk/home.php

They were in the past used for large format monitering, as well as theatre speaker systems. But none would perform well in a PA type environment. They have been known for their concert subwoofer's though if that is what you are liooking for.

Sonic, this thread is about speakers. You should honestly start a new thread, but I will answer here anyway.

As a rule, XLR connector's are mono. Even though there are 3 wires they do not carry a stereo signal. 1 wire is for power, 1 for signal, and 1 for ground/shield.

A stereo headphone feed would be carried by a typical 1/4" TRS connection. Or 2 1/4" TS connection's.

Odd they dont even list PA gear on their own website. Honestly if you would like to save a bit of money you should look at the Peavey line of PA gear. I use a pair of their PR 15 speakers and they carry a higher power rating as well and are much less then the Wharfedales.
