UPDATE: 03/31/05


nearing the end of week # 6, Status on my computer is as follows...

4th motherboard/cpu arrived today


4th DOA motherboard/cpu shipping back out today.


5th motherboard/cpu being shipped to me tomorrow, most likely arriving mid week next week (week #7)

if you have a fourth DOA, then there is something wrong with something else...it's time you started blaming another component, such as the power supply, how you are hooking it all up.

The chances of anyone getting four bad boards in a row are astronomical.

it would seem that way, but every other piece of equipment I am running has been tested in other computers, and works fine. Upon contacting the company I ordered my motherboard from... I was told I am one of 5 people currently having the exact same problems. Apparently, MSI has a bad batch of motherboards that slipped by whatever testing protocol they have.

ah, well, there is the one single possible explination. While teching years ago I had the same issues with a series of MoBo's from FIC.

needless to say, I am not trying another MSI board right now. I am going with an Asus.
