Okay, here's the deal. I'm getting Pro Tools LE with the rackmount Digi002R. I want to run it throught all analog gear, specifically a Behringer MX9000. This should work, right? Running it through my head, it makes perfect sense and I have friends that do stuff like this, but then someone told me that there was no way it could be done because he didn't know of a way to connect the MX9000 through the Digi002? Now I'm confused and worried because I have this lingering feeling that the heart of my studio is going to be incompatible.

I can't speak specifically about it because I own neither of the units in question, but I can say I have a drummer friend that does this exact same thing with a Mackie mixer and it seems to work fine...

... yeah I think that was the only feature of digi stuff that I liked that wan't available in SONAR was the ability to do the final mixdown though analog gear instead of rerecording the track through the gear... but that was with an 001. ...infact at the time mixing down though analog gear was the only way that system worked as it would drop out with even minimal software effects...

Alright, for the configuration I've worked out (A/D/A converter into the optical I/O input on the Digi002, which will give me 16 channels to run through the mixer into Pro Tools, and the other 16 for playback and mixing)I need to make sure that the mixer has channel direct outputs (or buss outputs) or the above configuration won't work. From the info on Musicians Friend, it says the following:

"8 triple-bused subgroups; channel, subgroup, and mic insert points and direct outputs"

Now it specifies channel ouputs, but does that mean it's a channel direct output?

Again, sorry, I'm a newbie.....

Help would be appreciated.
