I currently have a Behringer MX 2004A.
I was thinking of getting a Mackie Mixer possibly the 1202.
How much better are the Mackie preamps to the Behringer Preamps? Is there another brand/option that i could look at?
I use the mixer mainly as the interface between my mics and my sound card. Just the preamps though.
Cheers.

Mar 28, 2005 11:11 pm The 2004 is an excellant mixer. Honestly I think rather then investing in another mixer, your money would be better spent on just a dedicated Pre-amp if that is your only concern.
Reason for this is you will not get a decent trade for a used mixer, and the Mackie is going to cost twice what you paid for the Behringer. So invest that differance in a good mic pre and you will come out far ahead.
And adding my 2 cents worth. I own several Behringer mixers, and use their 3282 desk. I dont have any issues between the Mackie and Behringer pre's.

Can you recommend any rackmount preamps in particular?
