Well today i was setting up my sing star game for shits and giggles when i noticed it had a USB plug. So just for laughs i plugged it in to my computer and straight away it recognizes it as a dual mic input audio interface. It does 44.100 kHz, 16 Bit, Stereo recording. Dont know if any else has tried this but ill see what the quality is like today.

Mar 28, 2005 04:27 pm Sounds cool! Please educate an old man: What's "Sing Star"?
Mar 28, 2005 04:36 pm A playstation game jim. You plug it into your
playstation module, plug in the two mics provided and you sing the karaoke songs and the best singer wins.
Mar 28, 2005 05:13 pm does the game decide who the best singer is?
Mar 28, 2005 05:19 pm You never seen it wyd? The screen has the words on it and a bouncing ball over the top of the words tells you timing and length of a note/word. You can cheat by not singing and just humming in time to the bouncing ball. You don't even have to be in tune.
But its just a bit of fun.

Mar 28, 2005 05:27 pm I heard about that game on NPR a while back. I guess it scores you based on how in-time and in-tune you are with the lyrics. I could see how, in the right hands, it could be a lot of fun. Nobody I know would stand up and sing in front of each other, so it'd turn out pretty lame in my household :)
I can just imagine Col and Mum all wailing away while the dog cocks its head and wonders what the heck they're doing.
Mar 28, 2005 05:41 pm I don't like to play with BM. She won't let me win. But Wilson(the dog) he's quite good to play against. His paws aren't quite made for holding the mic for long periods.
Mar 28, 2005 06:02 pm lol nah i stay away from videogames and tv....some of the most potent drugs out there IMO. so i'm totally ignorant on anything relating to them. it was real funny when Chappell got popular for dooin' rick james, i havn't seen it yet but i feel like i have. everyone and there mom was quoting it.

Mar 28, 2005 06:10 pm lol you're not wrong wyd. On average I don't watch much tv or play games much. When friends come over I do, because they're still at school and I'm still a kid but otherwise I'm in my studio or working
peace man
Mar 28, 2005 06:57 pm word up, i hate to sound like a snob when i say stuff like that, but i watch my friends and family when they're on the tube, and it's wierd to see them enveloped in it. i can't say much to that effect, as for i'm got some bad/unhealthy/illeagle habbits of my own, but hey, to each his own i guess.

Mar 28, 2005 07:15 pm I Play games all the time on the PC and love it! Having said that, I reckon I’ve NOT recorded a few songs given the time I spend gaming.
I might try and abstain for a few weeks!
But I’m not giving up beer dag nammit!
