My V-amp has MIDI ins/outs. Can these be used to record MIDI to my computer VIA my Delta 44... Or are those designed specifically to alter the sound of the V-amp?

you are correct, the midi in/outs are for controling it from a sequencer, you could automate the parameters of the v-amp which is cool, but if you wanna record midi from a guitar, you need a midi pickup...

actually what I was thinking was Midi controller > V-amp > Delta 44 > computer but i didnt know if it worked like that or if it was more like

Computer > V-amp for the purpose of programming the V-amp

you prolly could use it as a midi controler, if you host program can 'learn' and assign the midi data to say a channel fader or any other type of automation.

as far as I know the MIDI is just to control the Vamp itself and it's likely also a passthru to let other info go thru it to other devices on the chain.

adaptor = interface (just like audio)

if your stock soundcard is still runnin' you can get a midi to serial port adapter.
