Hey.
SM57 on snare
AKG D112 on kick
MB4k's (small dia. condensor) for over heads (2)
Behringer B-1 for floor tom and ride
Any other suggestions would be very helpful. Also, I haven't bought these mic's yet (except for the MB4ks), so if there are better mics for the same price lemme know. Also, would the xy technique work better than having them on opposite sides of the set? Thanks.

Hey Josh

Please only post your question once and wait for a reply - posting the same thing 3 times won't get ya an answer any quicker (specially since most folks over there in teh good ol US of A are maybe just gettin to work/gettin up at 9.15am :-)

Regards to yer querry - have no idea. Search the forum for "drum micing" and yer sure to find some good stuff.

Cheers

Coco.

Yeah, it sounds like it would be a decent place to at least start looking for the right sound for a decent price.

i dont know the AKG D112, but make sure it can record frequencies as low as 20Hz and you should be in good shape. i usd an sm57 for most of the drum recoridng i did recently and it sounded sweet.

the AKG D112 is an awesome mic! iused it once at my friends guitar teacher's studio (sorry for the confusion) and it picks up EVERY SINGLE thing your bass drumm offers! it's a GREAT choice.
