Triggering samples live

To complicate live performances, I'm going to try to play some prerecorded samples (either through a keyboard or keys on a laptop) while plucking away at my acoustic (my attmept at acoustic electronica). I have SONAR 3.1.1 Producer but was wondering if there were better options for software for triggering samples? Of course I'm after something very cheap or free! Also any advice on playing samples live would be welcome.

Thanks
Andrew

not free or used in a computer, but reasonably cheap, and I think it will do what you want it to. (sorry for the delayed post)

I found a program once, that you set up with all your keys on your computer keyboard pointing to different samples. Then you just have to remember which key plays what. Like press the y key and it will play the sample stored there. It was pretty cheesy but worked great. I had it on two computers that have since burned. Let me look for it.
