Audiophile 2496 problem

Hi all!

basicly i have built a new PC for my friend for the purposes of music production. it contains the following hardware.

*Value Estar Benz Case Blue With 350W PSU
*Asus K8N (Socket 754) Motherboard
*AMD Athlon 64 3000 Newcastle 130nm (Socket 754)
**GeIL 1GB (2x512MB) PC3200 Value Dual Channel Kit
*Samsung SpinPoint P SP1213C 120GB SATA 8MB Cache
*Connect3D ATI Radeon 9550SE 128MB DDR TV-Out/DVI (AGP)
and obviously the Delta Audiophile 2496.

the problem is that when ever cubase sx 2 does its sound card check (making sure the ASIO drivers are working or something) it throws up a lot of out of sync errors. it has also crashed out the pc a few times whilest recording.

it plays music back fine. records midi fine. records fine, although you cant hear what your playing while you record. it does however play it back. can that be fixed?

its using the latest m-audio drivers and direct x drivers.

just not sure what to do. i was just going to reinstall his copy of xp and start again. but if possible id like to avoid that.

Cheers for any help.

Jack

Not sure aboot this but a 350watt power supply might be a bit light for the gear you have.

As far as recording and hearing it, what control panel options for the Delta have you tried? Monitor Mixer selection might help...

i wouldn't have thought so. used a power supply calculator and it added up to 289w and i was over zealous with periferals.

there isnt some fancy way of installing drivers i dont know about? or configuring cubase?

OK, just checking, seems like a lot to run on 350 watts..I thought most 64 systems now were using 400+ watt supplies, but eh, I might be wrong.

As far as installing drivers goes, no, no fancy way, just let windows friggin' wizards do it all...

Perhaps the 24/96 is being picky about which pci slot it's in ? I've had that problem, and heard of a few others with the same issue... worth a try to switch it .
