My PC/aardvark combo. has bunged. Whenever I start my comp the aardvark automatically sets the sample rate to INT 96 Khz(norm INT 44.1khz) and there are constant sound levels coming through the aardvark monitr software faders, even when im not doing anything. The sound does not come through not my genelecs (monitor outs).

I set the sample rate back to 44.1 Khz, and then open a Cubase SL project. The project opens fine but when I push play either a) there is no sound even on the fader levels in cubase(but still constant level in aardvark software) b) a lot of pops and crackles fill the space of the music and THEN there is no sound.

Yes, I have checked all the connections, and have read the "trouble shooting" part of the manual with no avail.

I am getting terribly bored and want to record!

Yep, my Q10's still bung, it obviously doesnt like me much because it will play other peoples songs now........ but not mine. :'(

lol, i turned my PC on after reinstalling the drivers and then turned on the moniters and heard aretha franklins respect! I checked the CD drives, nothing in there, but there were levels coming through the aardvark. I thought it was some king of virus that played RESPECT and stopped my aardvark from working. After a crap load of laughs, i found out it was the radio.

Asio buffer size = 512

latency = 20 milliseconds

Sample size = 24 bit

mine still works :)

assuming you run XP
click start->control panel-> system-> hardware tab->device manager->computer ...and assure that it says Standard PC ** NOT ACPI!!!**

in XP, ACPI will screw with the Q10 and confuse it with an ethernet adapter.

I discovered the ACPI problem myself 3 years ago :)

I was getting a constant tone when I first started (thread may still be archived someplace here) and started killing processes in services.msc and rebooting until it stoped. DHCP was the culpret and it went away after disabling ACPI... I think I read a vague thread about other "exotic" hardware not liking ACPI somplace.
