Multiple sound cards?

Can you link different sound cards to record at the same time?
Eg. Can I link my aardvark with say a 10/10 interface?

Can't 'physically' link most cards, no, but most recording software will allow you to record from multiple interfaces at the same time, and adjust for any latency differences.

i'm pretty sure there's an issue with ASIO drivers, i've read you can't have more than one ASIO device, but i guess if you have one ASIO and one WDM then maybe it'll work...

my two cents

drivers ahev to be hacked to get ASIO to work with more than one deive, m-audio models can play with more than one of a model (I don't believe differing models), so can Echo, but this is not ASIO norm, this is a custom hack of ASIO.

It's probably ASIO's single biggest limitation.

Hey CS...

I read somewhere that someone just ran himself another Q10 with his first Q10. Ye can run up to 4 of those puppies I believe withoot a bother.

So, maybe think along those lines..that'll save ye messin with drivers AND give ye another 10 channels..If ye link 4 of em, a whoppin 40 channels ye'd have a BIG MOMMMMMMA of a interface!!

Think it'd take ye more time to deal with patchin and mic'in than any darn recording wi 40 channels! hehehe.

yeah aardvarks drivers support mutiple aardvark q 10's so i guess that is a custome hack they did to their own driver, but i'm not sure if'd it'd work with say an aardvark and a MOTU both runnin' ASIO...

M-audio has a deal like that, i run 2 1010lt's together . I had to go to the web sit to check out there FAQ's but I needed to invest a few $$ on another SPIDF cable to link both cards . So it's possible to do so ,(i've also run echo cards with the m-audio ones)

I just cant find an aardvark anywhere (since my mum wont let me purchase of e-bay :( )so, do you think it is possible to link to different types of cards if ones ASIO and one WDM?
