Using the output on my amp to record

Could i run a cord from the output from my amp (the large headphone output) into into the back of the E-mu 0404 soundcard??? Would it pick up the signal to record my guitar?

yeah it's not ideal, but it'll work....start with your pre amp on the e-mu all the way down and the headphone volume all the way down and bring the heaphone up to almost max (maybe even max) or until it starts clippin'. then bring the pre up for nominal signal....
