hey me and my band just discovered a couple new brands. one called "Blue" and the other "Red". there most likely a branch of one another. I was wondering if anyone knows the quality, and if anyone has any expeirence with these brands?

if so, what are your thoughts on the microphones. i am looking into getting one.

here is the website link if you would like to check them out.

Highly regarded... but not cheap. Depends how much money you want to spend I guess. Have you seen the range of condensers from Australian company Rode? Excellent quality but a lot cheaper www.rode.com.au/

Yup the Blue line is a top line of microphones with some heavy duty prices. Fine sounding mics for sure although I know little about their little 'blue ball' which is their first modified dynamic mic.

Others to look at if you are on a budget might be:

Rode
Groove Tube
ATK
MXL
Oktava

If budget is not a concern you might also look at Neuman to compare to the Blue line.

Yeah, the reds are a new line by blue, not used either as far as i can recall, but the blues get a lot of good press.

the reason why no one has been using red, is because it doesnt come out until MARCH 05. lol
im sure people will when it is released. it was suppose to be released this month, but hasnt been.

is there any website links for these listed brands Walt?

at small local gigs as it appears you do (judging by your web site pictures) sound men tend to get kinda pissed when you have a bass amp that big.

I used to have a few hundred watt head, a 2x15 cab and a 4x10 cab. It sounded awesome, but the sound was sooooo big in small rooms the sound guy had no control over the levels. When I switched to my little Ampeg B3, 150 watts combo with 100 watts to a 15" and 50 watts to an 8", the sound was still awesome (what a butt-kickin amp), it was easier to move around, and the sound guy still had control of the sound.

Remember, the amp is just for stage sound...

lol yeah i know.
but i would also like it just because its my favourite amp, and my influences use it. i really like the sound (ive played over ampegs) and other local acts have used 810 and they didnt mind. so hopefully it wont be a problem.
