Need to re-record when I don't have a cold.

As usual, all comments on everything are most welcome. Thanks for listening!

i like the feel, the vocals are very dry, but i guess you're gonna redo them later (get some reverb on them)....-listening-....the guitars could be a bit more "in your face"...you have a nice agressive tone and you could "showcase" it by having them nice 'n loud...i like the structure, it has a good sense of movement. i donno if it was your cold or what, but the vocals sounded a bit "forced"...to overcome that, turn the lights low/off and find that place you were in when you wrote it...you gotta pour your bleeding heart into a vocal track...it's easy to do live, but very hard to do well in a studio environment. don't worry about perfect pitch and stuff like that. people want emotion! ummm that's about all i can think of....good work man, i wanna here it again later.

peace

As mentioned the vocals need a cheeky bit of verb. I really like this song. reminds me so someone but i can't think of who.

i think the rythem guitar could come up a little!

I like it!

To start, I think this is a very cool song! I really dig the lyrics, melody, and pretty much everything. I think the for the mix (caveat: I'm on low band streaming), I like how all the drums are very punchy. With that said, I might pull down the snare a tiny bit. I think in addition to reverb on the vocals, I would take them down volume wise as well, in order to make the guitars stand out more (they're a little buried). I like how you add the second voice in the chorus. I agree with WYD, with mention on singing with feeling (though it comes out more towards the end of the song). Good song, and can't wait to hear once you redo vocals.

Thanks for listening guys.

I did have 'verb on the vocals at one point when I was mixing, but I took it off. Maybe I will fiddle with it again for a little longer.

Totally agree with you about the guitars. I don't really know why I settled o the sound I recorded, looking back now it's not very good. I will most certainly have to re-record those as well. I did use my brand new sm57, however!

I'd say in another 3 days or so, my head will clear up and I will return to my normal, out-o-pitch singing. Woo-hoo! I will post a new version then.

Thanks.

That's a damn edgy piece of music you've got there! I actually like the guitar tone...it's so thin that it frightens me, which is a good thing given the overall context.

Your vocal sorta reminds me of a cross between a BritPop singer and an early 90's alternative band...like mixing Cracker and Mudhoney or something like that. Good effect overall, especially the double-tracking (I'm assuming that's double-tracking). It maintains its consistency until that very last verse, when it goes from that same edgy sound quality to a very atonal match.

Good stuff.

Ok, here is the newest version.

I don't think I have a cold anymore (might have gotten used to my voice) so I re-did it today.

The guitars are still lacking I think, I need to really spend a whole afternoon with the amp and micing.

I am wondering if people like when the drums come in now, as opposed to the first version. I changed it up a bit.

Bennis, did I mention I really like this track yet?

I think vocals could still come down a bit in the mix. Don't remember exactly how the old version was, but this sounds good to me (drums). Vocals have a good presence, just a bit loud relative to other instruments. I think first verse and chorus are sung better than the rest of the song. Guitars sound good to me. Yeah, I really like this song. Nice job.

Real nice track...I definately hear a little of the Staind influence...just a little...nice contrasts...I like the heavier guitars jumping in...

If you want a little more punch...clone the guitar tracks...sometimes I used 3 cloned tracks for each guitar...makes a real nice wall of sound on the guitars and thickens it up. (Heck...I do it on most tracks...)

Nice job...good tune.
