That's awesome! Im going to have to try the demo. $25 is a pretty darn good registration price!

It says that it has unlimited tracks, which is great. I wonder how many inserts and sends/returns it has per track? I see it comes with some effects, but it doesnt say if they're VST or what.

I'll give this a try soon and report back.

I just spied a cut down Cubase (Cubasis VST) I think it was at WH Smith (big newsagent here in the UK) for just £50 Tad, that'd run ye $100 roughly..have ye checked that??

Steinberg, quality, 8 inserts I think with 48 tracks??

Maybe worht a wee look matey.

Cheers

I had some trouble finding copies of Cubasis here in the states. I think that it's mostly bundled with hardware anymore (a copy of it came w/my SB Audigy card that I sent back).

On a related note, I was pricing some multitracking apps the other day and I ran across Cubase SL, Steinberg's "budget, entry-level" software. I dug around and found some prices for it. $250!!! That's budget? Sheesh! I realize their flagship app costs $600, but what's entry-level about a $250 app?

$25 is more of what I think of as entry level :)

On an almost unrelated note, I almost shat myself when I saw that a 4' x 30' roll of Auralex SheetBlock costs $350. 1 roll. $350. That's 1 roll, not like a gross of rolls, or even a dozen rolls. 1 roll. $350. I guess carpet just became the best option for my new sound room's dampening.

if you don't pay the tolls, then we don't get no rolls

Indeed the sheetblok isnt cheap. I priced some materials available from the others as well, and thye are more expensive then that. The price does go down depending on were you buy it though, and how much. If you can get it from a local store who reps Auralex it will be lots cheaper.

But back on the sheetblok story. The reason it is that spendy is because of its density. If you figure it does the job usually requiring 4 layers of sheet rock, and 2 layers of 6" sound batting insulation, and the stud material to hold it all up. The price is not too bad considering what it does.

But ya, it is not a budget minded material.
