Hey Hrc,
My band has finally completed a song, put in some effects and compressed, and now im ready for eqs. Cubase only has a 4 band eq. Do I need to download and eq plugin or something or just save eqs for a mastering progran.
Software wise, what do you prefer Wave Lab, Sound Forge or whatever else you guys use. Ill post the song when its ready, its pretty kickin.
Thankyas

Jan 13, 2005 06:54 pm The best Mastering Equalizer program on the planet is Har-Bal www.har-bal.com
Jan 13, 2005 07:02 pm true dat! save your time and money with Har-Bal. i use wavelab for mastering, Waves makes hella mastering plugins, but you pay for that kinda quality. look for some multi-band compressors too, Izotope Ozone is a good all in one solution too.
peace

Jan 13, 2005 08:25 pm I tried the demo of Harbal and i was like? That 8 bit is kinda harsh.
Does it have an eq? i just thought it was to get proper levels on the overall track. Im still looking into eqing each track..
I have money, where do i get some of those plugins and do you use other programs whatsoever?
sorry for all the questions
I tried my cats food the other day it wasnt that bad.

Jan 13, 2005 09:18 pm Have an EQ? Har-Bal is an EQ...the whole app is an advanced equalizer...
Yeah, 8-bit demo is somwhat harsh, but thats the demo limitation, the full version handles any bitrate very well.

Jan 14, 2005 12:27 am I use the parametric eq that comes with Cool Edit for my eqing of individual tracks. Parametric eq is great and is what I'd advise. Don't where I'd look for one though. I'm a little surprised that Cubase only comes with a 4 band eq.
Oh, and you definitely want the option of eqing each track. I eq virtually every track I mix nowadays.

You will find dozens of EQ plugs here, free of charge and darn good....
Also, HUNDREDS of over vst plugs.
