Hey Hrc,

I have the M-Audio Firewire 1814 and I have trouble when recoding in Cubase Sx 2 how to let each input on the firewire have its own channel in cubase. I also dont really want any pans on any of the channels. I tried arming 4 tracks for recording but it just records all four inputs on 4 seperate tracks. I need this especially for drums, one for bass, snare, etc. etc.

I contacted tech support but i think I mispelled my email :0

Anyways,

Gracias for the help:_)

I'm not understanding your problem here...

you want each input from your sound card to have its own track...and when you arm all 4 and record, they each record on their own track...I guess I don't see the problem here.

I was just testin you, actually no i messed up.

What I meant to say was: Whenever I arm 4 tracks for recording, it records the four inputs, but on all four channels. (Its the same track 4 times. Bass, snare, overheads, are not divided up theyre all mixed together).

Better?

Im here waiting for response :)

Oh, you need to explicitly assign each track to only record from only a specific input on your card.

If it still does it, then you are dealing with mic bleeding...

Look in properties of each track, it's there somewhere, and make sure in audio properties of the app you have specifically defines the right device as you sound device.

Read the help menus, they'll tell you how, it's a basic configuration for any multitracking app.

Each track has it's own individual properties dialog box, correct? In those properties it should allow you to select the input and output you wish that track to use, you need to set those to use the proper inputs, it's really not that hard.

In the mixer panel at the top of each channel, just above the channel fader there is a box. In it you should see text such as 'in 1 R', 'in 1 L', 'in 2 R', etc. If you left click on these boxes a drop down panel will appear and allow you to choose which input you want to go to that channel. If all of your inputs do not appear in that drop down box, you will need to go to devices, VST inputs and configure your inputs as active.

Hope this helps.

In cubase i press f3, the mixer pops up. Theres no 'in 1 R', 'in 1 L', 'in 2 R', in fact theres nothing above the channel fader except the pan. However, below the fader there are channel names.

I have IN 1 L (which is all that comes through) then the other channels are Audio 2, Audio 3, etc. the BUS 1.

Im getting so frustrated,

Theres a drop down box for Sends R/L should that do anything? No one answers me on the other forum :(

Any Ideas?

Omar,

I don't understand the confusion about where the box is, but you found it! I have SX 1 so maybe they changed it.

It looks as if your system is not recognizing the other inputs. Go to the tab DEVICES. Choose VST INPUTS from the drop down list. In the menu box that will come up you will be able to active other input channels in the system. If there are no other channels to activate the problem is deeper. You may have to remove Cubase. Install the sound card drivers and reinstall Cubase.

THANK YOU MOSES!!!!
