Tell me what you think about the M-audio Ozone USB Audio and MIDI Controller for laptop recording/live playing. Is it a good choice for a $250 budget?
Thanks,
Paul

I personally have the Radium49 and love it.

Gots a link to that Radium there dB? Been a long time since I've played with any midi boards and the Ozone and Radium stuff seems to be pretty well heard of (or spoken of). Currently looking for a decent controller (without breaking the bank) myself...

I love mine, it's been a lot of fun.

How's the key feel and the weighting? Specs don't seem to mention velocity sensitive keys, got 'em, and do they work well?

they are full sized keys, velocity sensitive and all that, not weighted at all, typical synth feel.

Too bad, traditional weightings hard to find in a lower priced controller, but I'm still hoping to find one! Sorry if I took over the thread there flakes, but it is related, and there's some info for ya! hehe

If I want weighted keys I'll buy a piano, I like synth keys...but then, I'm a bass player...

I was brought up playing the organ, went through 5 years of TKAM, so I was used to synth keys myself... Then I went and noodled around with a friends baby grand and... Well, drool cleanup was the topic of his next discussion with me...

Waldo, M-Audio has I believe 2 controllers out now with weighted keys. One is a bit less expensive then the other. The spendy one, and its really not that spendy compared to say my Fatar/StudioLogic 88 key controller. Anyway, it has some great feature, I got to test drive one and was almost tempted to trade my Fatar in for one, but I have grown acustomed to it now and dont want to try and get used to another controller. But it was a very pleasant playing keyboard by all means. And the extra control's really were what tempted me.

Wooo, yeah, hammer action is perfect, but it's certainly out of my price range... I'd have to save up a couple years for that bad boy...

Some day though, or maybe if I get lucky and pick up a better job ;)
