Large diaphram condenser mic picking up computer noise?

Hi, Yesterday I picked up a new mic from the local music shop.I got it home and plugged her in and it is picking up ambient noise(which I am 80% sure it is from my pc).If I decrease the trim on my Aardvark control panel to the point where it isnt audible anymore, the input signal inst high enough.I believe it may be one of the fans in my pc that is making this noise.Any thoughts?
Thanks
Jesse

If its a studio mic, they`ll pick up anything and everything that is within 20 feet of them so you may have to move it out of the room and into a place where there is no noise at all.
If thats not possible, try surrounding it with thick blankets, or several thin ones might actually be better. Kinda like a generic little soundbooth.

It also might be the cables your using. Sometimes if you have audio cables close together along with power cords, it`ll make alot of noise.

The bathroom here at my place is right around the corner from my bedroom (studio :O) hehe!) less than 20ft of cable length away. The acoustics, including a soft natural reverb, and the isolation from my noisy PentIII machine with three frigging ball bearing fans makes the bathroom an excellent place to mic up and shread. Great seating too, but everyone always knocking asking to borrow my "booth".

and while we're at it, make sure you don't have your computer monitor on when you record. These things kick off enough EM radiation to cook one of those Hungryman frozen dinners.
