Alright, so we ended up using samples from a video game for the story-line . I guess if we get serious with this one, we'll change things around then, but until then... why not sample some fun ?! Woo woo ! Still no bass, though .

Dec 14, 2004 10:17 pm Me likey! Did you ever play "Wasteland" back in the day? I felt like I was playing that, for some reason. Good, apocalypic riff with some almost-decipherable sound effects thrown in.
Why get serious? That was goofy fun, and we need more of it!

Dec 14, 2004 10:57 pm dude... i'm, like... IN the game
very cool, Hue! This makes me think of music you'd hear upon finishing some epic videogame adventure... with all the monsters and baddies "dancing" more or less in time to the music as a flurry of Japanese-sounding names whip across the screen...

Dec 14, 2004 11:34 pm thermocaster- I have never played Wasteland, what system was it for ? Back in the day, it was Metal Worriors for our crew . heh heh I agree about the goofy fun ! I guess I was being considerate of others involved, outloud . We used Medal Of Honor stuff for this one . Made me think about how they recorded their samples of gun fire, both in-coming, and outgoing... really detailed, and some of the hits, just gross . lol
The Tincanbug- 'Totally, dude' ! Hah hah !!! Right on about the end of game bit . Cheers, man ! : )
Thanks for the listen gents !
Dec 14, 2004 11:44 pm Wasteland --- a very old RPG for the PC. Ran on two 720kb disks. It was set in California after a nuclear war, sort of like the Fallout series that came about a decade later, but MUCH better.

Dec 15, 2004 02:54 am Thanks Bleak ! Yeah, still haven't worked that bass line out... I'm hearing notes, but I haven't got down to the buisness of barrowing a bass to record the lines . hee hee... or actually filling the bands bass position that we have yet to fill .

Dec 15, 2004 05:31 pm Dude, I definitely feel like I'm blasting 3 or 4 zombies every time I turn a corner, but I gotta keep running, cuz I gotta get to the attic at the top of the mansion and defuse the bomb before the whole thing goes KABLOOOEY!
Either that or I'm fighting the main boss zombie at the end of the game. You know the one with 3 heads and you gotta explode all 3 heads and after you kill each head his whole attack style changes from like extendo arms, to splattering boils, to bats flying out his mouth.

Dec 21, 2004 08:38 pm heh heh It was fun, as we didn't really work too hard at it, and there was beer involved . I would like to record the riff all proper like, and add some dynamics to the arrangement, though... turn it into an actual 'song'... someday . heh Thanks for the listen, and comments .: )
