I have been using cubase SE on my laptop for a while and it has worked successfuly. I have installed the program to a new desktop using the same soundcard and software and cannot get any sound in or out of Cubase. I use a mixing desk and I know that it is correctly connected as I can hear other stuff from computer games etc through it. I haven't changed any of the settings as far as I know. I would appreciate any help I can get. Thanks

Did you first set up your Asio Multimedia setup ? This is seperate from Cubase and needs to be set up for the appropriate in / out sources.

Are you running midi into cubase, can you check if you are receiving a signal.

Can you load audio files and see any activity during playback?

There are many reasons why it may not be playing back you will have to check with the manual to see have you 'turned on' all the necessary parameters / assignments.

Ifound the problem. When I reinstalled all the software on my new computer, I installed Cubase first. I uninstalled everything and then reinstalled my soundcard first and then Cubase and it is now running smoothly. But thanks for your ideas and for taking the time to respond.

Nice find!

This is not the first time Cubase snafu's have come up at HRC. Once stabalized the program seems to be pretty solid. I will try to remember your experience for the beinfit of others down the line.
