I was just wondering how to about finding out how many "inputs" my soundcard has (this must sound like a ridiculous question). I currently have a Pre-Amp that has 2 inputs (so I plug in my guitar and mic) and then that runs through my USB. Is this all I need to sing on my mic and play my guitar at the same time so that they record on SEPERATE tracks?

depends on wat sound card you have?
Is your USB and interface??
If I were you i wouldnt play it at the same time, then you wont be able to edit the wave, individually.. so if u record seperately, i think its better.
describe ur situatiom and exactly what equip u got?

Dec 11, 2004 07:15 pm I think that depends on the preamp your using. But, it seems like there would be a good chance you could get two seperate tracks, one for each input.
Dec 11, 2004 07:27 pm It sounds like your Preamp IS your "sound card", or moer correctly "audio interface". What is the make and model?...Maybe someone else uses it, and could help you out. Also, what recording software will you be using?
