Best approach for 2nd floor sound room?

Hello-
I'm a home studio newbie, so please pardon my training wheels.

I'm planning a studio o the 2nd floor of my house. the room is unfinished (sub-floor & drywall). Kid's bedrooms are below so floor sound isolation is a factor. Do I need to go the full de-coupled/floating floor route or will sound block suffice? The room is ± 380 sq/ft. Any tips/experience? I'm made of music but not $$ but I know that you get what you pay for!

TIA
