Nov 30, 2004 09:16 pm bx5's are nice. i've heard them....
when it comes to monitors, if it's a well known company you can really effectively guage the quality by the price. companies like behringer, m-audio, edirol, will make cheap home studio monitors that will put out nice flat freq. response. check those out.
if you're rich and want more, check out mackie.

Dec 01, 2004 07:26 am I have the BX8's. (Okay, everybody stop the whinning...yes, I'm talking about my monitors again) I would go to a music store that has different brands and listen to everyone and decide which you like the best. Because, one person say they like this brand, but honestly you really like this brand....etc.
Dec 03, 2004 12:52 am Are these suitable 4 hip hop?

Dec 03, 2004 07:08 am Honestly, I wouldn't use them for hip-hop unless you buy the subwoofer. Hip-hop deals with smooth bass and such and so I suggest using a sub. I just don't think they have the bass response on their own to do hip-hop like I would want too.
Dec 03, 2004 07:56 am would it be a bad idea to use a comercial branded sub like the one people use with their stereo sytem like rca, jvc, etc..?
or could you or any body else suggest a pair of monitors that could handle the bass of hip hop on there own without the use of a sub?

Dec 03, 2004 09:26 am Don't use a commercial branded sub! You have more problems with it sounding good on that and then the next stereo sounded like crap. If you have M-Audio monitors, get the M-Audio sub, if you have Mackie monitors, get the Mackie sub, etc. They have a nice feature on the M-Aduio sub that has different settings with one going to the 2 speakers and settings for the sub, to give you control over what is crossed over and such. Have to have that.
Dec 03, 2004 06:21 pm Is there a pair of moniters out there that can provide me the good bass response in need 4 producing hip hop? or do I absoulutly have to get a sub no matter what?
