ok so here is the question what is the real difference in the Beat SM 57s and 58s and the regular SM 57s and 58s and is the extra money worth the betas?

Nov 30, 2002 07:45 pm ive owned a beta 58. for one thing it is about 70$ more expensive than a normal 58. and the sound was fatter. sounded better in my opinion.
Dec 01, 2002 01:54 am well thankx ... i was jsut wondering wether to fork out the extra cash or not..
Dec 01, 2002 03:03 pm hey the_germ, if you find a good deal on some 57's anywhere, let me know, i'm in tha market for a pair of good instrument mics -j
Dec 01, 2002 04:49 pm sure thing... yeah... im looking for some myself... so if find any i will def. let you know...
Dec 01, 2002 05:54 pm i've also had my eye on Rode's NT3 condenser. It's uses phantom power OR batteries! Man that would fix my minidisc portabilty woes. Twice the price but twice as nice.
Also there's a pair of Rode NT5's at Musician's Friend for $299, also condensers, but not battery powered.
Anybody have any suggestions for recording instruments in stereo on a budget?? -j
