Not really my style, but I liked it.

Musically I think it’s sound but, (and I won't lie) I think the mix needs a little work. I can't hear the kick at all and the snare just barely pokes though now and then. Also, there are a lot of midrangey instruments in the song so you may have to try some drastic eq to make everything heard.

Other then that, keep it commin’!

Hey Blake,

I think that you've done a very nice job for your first posting! I like the sounds of everything...your voice is very good...sits in the mix very well. I agree that the drums need to be brought up in the mix, and I don't really hear a bass (assuming there is one!)

It's a great song, and you have done a great job recording it. I think that with a little tweaking you'll have yourself a cool little song.

Keep on rockin'

Oh, yeah, and the guitar solo is killer!

Bleak, agree with Jim on this being an very good first start. Also agree with there being alot going on in the mid range area. The vocals and guitar are competing for space there and it does mask the drums and bass as well.

I think with some tweaking you will have a great tune there as it is very well put together adn just needs the EQ worked out to make all the intruments have their place in the mix.

Thanks for the feedback guys! i had level problems from the start. Im not really sure how to seperate mid-range instruments but i'll have a read around through the forums.

I really appreciate the feedback - Cheers

I'll tell you what I liked right from the start - the vocals on this song are just very well done. You have kind of a "Bon Jovi meets Tom Waits" complete uniqueness kind of quality to your voice. The vocals were outstanding. Very nice job!

The music, I thought, had a couple of rythym troubles between the guitar and drums, the song itself was very cool. The vocals were a bit too "front" for me in the mix. The drums could've gone up a little more.

Altogether a stellar first project. welcome to HRC man!

I have since re-worked the mix on the advice given here and it does sound heaps better!

Cheers to everyone!

Nice song, very good vocals. I don't know if this is the remix, but I'd say the drums still need to be brought more to the front and the vocals could still be lowered just a bit. But very nice first effort.
