msnbc.msn.com/id/6568977/

here's a guy who wants to hook up guns to webcams and allow people to kill real deer from the comfort of thier own homes.

you know, if you were a kid who lived near there, you would be so dared to go onto his ranch. it would be the scariest place in the state, the scariest stunt. to make it through the 'autonomous killing woods.'

oh yeah, not to mention, i dont think deer evolved to deal with this ****.

I wonder how licensing is handeled?

Also Lautenberg Amendment comes to mind...

I never though saying "DAMN LAG!!" would be in my hunting vocabulary either...

You know, I'm not against hunting. I'm really not against it. But this really is just pointless slaughter.

you know what? i hate to say it, and i dont know what happened, but it is not very hard at all to imagine a bunch of backwoods guys hurling racial epithets and shooting at the ground behind this man.

Well, the racial slurs and crap is likely not true, that didn't come out until a while after the incident...and considering nobody is left to say otherwise of course he is gonna say that...this is America, if you have the race card in your hand you HAVE to play it.

This guy is from my area and this incident happened in the next state, we started hearing about it on our local news minutes after it happened. Local people heard a max of 20 shots, he killed 6 people, some shot multiple times, doesn't leave much for the "backwoods guys" to use to shoot back, only one of the "backwoods guys" was even known to have a gun at the time.

yes, i now hear that.

it just sounded like a scene from a movie. wasnt hard to imagine grown men acting like high schoolers with the insults. given the basketbrawl, too. guys can act dumbly macho, backwoods or not.

but youre right this guy is prolly lyin'

I think he is lying, but one of the guys (I believe the guy that originally confronted him) is still alive and improving, one other guy is home now. I have to take everything they say biasly as well, but honestly, the shotter was on private property, that was very well marked, in a treestand that was not his, so really, racial slurs or not, he was out of line and breaking the law.

Guys can be stupid, it's sad a father and son were killed, the original guy had his daughter killed...it's sad, really sad, and to pull out the race card (which I TOTALLY saw coming) is just plain lame.

it's one of those deals where we will never know exactly what happened except that 6 people died.

right. but boy...racial slurs or not, if even one shot was shot at the ground behind me---i mean, who here can just feel the anger rise in them when you imagine that? if those guys did in fact fire a shot, then i find it really hard to have any sympathy for them.

Some of us just grew up in the line of fire shall we say. And been there more then once.

So far no one has mentioned the first guys gun having been fired at all, and if that was really the case I am sure it would have been in the news allready, so sorry to say but the shooter is probly lying through his teeth.

All I know is if someone radioed me and said they had been shot at I sure as hell aint goin out there without my gun.

though if we had the online hunting thing set up, some bored geek could have maybe taken out this guy before his outburst.

Only specifically aimed at me once... while hunting. It was more strange than anything... I was just standing there thinking "what an idiot...he can't hit me from there..."

Another time of me being in the path of birdshot while fishing during duck season. ...So _thats_ why fishermen wear hats....

When I lived in michigan and was in middleschool I lived on a small farm. One year we had a guy shoot a deer inside our barn... that had all off our cattle in it. We negotiated the entire deer in return for not calling the police. (discharging a firarm while hunting within 300 yards of a building is illegal in michigan) Apparently he was driving down the road and saw a deer in our neighbors field and chased it... and got caught up in the moment :/ Even the local militia guys wen't that dumb... and thats saying a lot...

Basically I was walking through a harvested cornfield and a guy ran out of his trailer (there was as small trailer development...can't really call it a trailerpark though...) with a dog and a shotgun and was a good 400 yards away when he started shooting. I layed down so the dog wouldn't see me and waited a couple minutes and he went back inside and I continued on my way. The area was very anti-police due to a number of bad officers and I doubt they would have come even if I was shot. The next year the local town (Johnstown, OH) almost abolished it's police force and a few other towns were grumbling themselves. Last time I called the county police (who was actually the jurisdiction they took 4 hours to respond and said they didn't investigate crimes in this area unless you cought then person yourself...because it's within a halfmile of the county border...

The birdshot was...well, I was in a rowboat in a lake and apparently there was a duckhunter on the other side so we couldn't see eachother. He's see a duck, shoot, miss, and a few seconds later the pellets would rain down on me... it's like something you would expect to see in a RedGreen episode... more funny than anything...lasted for about five shots...
