Hi guys.
I was wondering if I could buy certain pedals to use with my Microkorg?...Distortion pedals, Wha(sp?) pedals, Reverb Pedals, etc?...
Is it possible to use Guitar pedals for a keyboard, or will it cause static and not play clearly...?
Thanks

Oct 20, 2004 12:53 pm It is absolutely possible. As for the static/clarity, that depends on a ton of things... what pedals you're using, what effects, what levels the effects are set on, what patch you're using on your keyboard, etc, etc, etc.
They're not going to sound the same as guitar effects, simply because you're not passing a guitar sound to them.
The only way to find out if you like it is try it out. Do you know anyone who has pedals you can borrow before you start handing out money? That's the best solution.

Your imagination is the only limit on what you can do. I never played my old Rhodes piano without a Phase shifter on it.

Oct 25, 2004 11:35 am Well,
I have used a Bass pedal for a guitar and the sound came out VERY staticy. This is why I ask.
I have a friend that places Bass and has pedals, but they don't work too well. I guess the pedals are purposly EQ'd for low-end sounds. Thats why I tought a guitar pedal might work better.
I guess I will rent one and see if it works.
Thanks

Oct 26, 2004 11:21 pm I would say the pedal was bad then. I have used bass effect pedals on guitar and vice versa with no ill effect. Just a bit of differant tone is all.
