I will be purchasing a recording software package in the near future and would like to know what everyone uses. What do you guys suggest? I own a pc and a good audio card but currently record all my music on a digital recording console. What choice should i make? Money is not that big of an issue to me.
Any comments are welcome please.

I have alot of music that has already been mixed and recorded to disc, but needs to be mastered and tweaked abit. I want a program that will let me import my old music as well as create new music from scratch. All my music consists of is both electric and acoustic guitars, bass, vocals, and drums patches created by an external drum machine.

I use Adobe Audition, which in addition to being a good multi-track app, also has the tools, wave editor, and CD burning support to do the mastering aspect.

With any of them though I think your going to want/need to upgrade your memory to a minimum of of 512MB, and 1GB would be better.

Do you need MIDI in the software, a maximum amount of tracks? There are a lot of good choices out there, Multitrack Studio, Kinetic, N-track, Sonar, Cubase, Audition...
