the mixer looks like a Behringer mixer
But I don't think it is

the Bottom "thing" under the mixer
is some sort of soundcard from digidesign

Pretty hard to tell, it's a small Behringer or Mackie...but lots of smaller mixers look very similar, from that distant of a pic it's tough to tell. But yeah, I agree with Presley, that's a Digi002 underneath it.

The mixer looks like an Behringer 802-type, 4 mono channels 2 stereo channel, single bus out with headphone or control room volume control...perhaps two aux busses...very similar to this service.bfast.com/bfast/c...mp;bfmtype=gear

The mixer looks like the Yamaha MG10/2, pretty sure that's what it is.

the Digi002 is a sound card...it's the audio interface to get the audio into the PC.

good ol digi002 rack. Does many things. Works in conjunction with protools LE. Allows you to hook up mics, geetars, basses, turntables, or whatever poops out sound to the PT equiped computer for the purposes of recording. Also has outputs, many of em too. The mixer was problobly used to extent the input capability and/or allow for no latency monitoring cause sometimes lo latency just ain't low enuff.

Nothing related with ProTools comes cheap. Ihave read some very good things about the Lexicon device service.bfast.com/bfast/c...mp;bfmtype=gear

How many tracks would you want to record at the same time? The digi002 is able to recording a whole band at once. I'm sure you could find a cheaper soundcard but still decent around somewhere. Here's another possibility from digidesign if you can handle only doing 2 tracks at a time.
